Overview

A dedication to medicine, combined with academic achievements and volunteer work, led to my nomination for the Envision National Youth Leadership Forum (NYLF) in Medicine.

I attended NYLF at University of Maryland. It is a nine-day interactive curriculum with hands-on medical experience and clinical skills rotations at University of Maryland School of Medicine and George Washington School of Nursing. Medical professionals taught me how to suture, take blood pressure, draw blood, and perform emergency medical care. We worked with medical teaching dolls, cadavers and observed actual patients receiving treatment.

Aside from the amazing education, I met many interesting people and developed some great friendships with like-minded participants. The National Leadership Forum helped me expand my medical knowledge and provided valuable personal and professional experience.
